History of Homeopathic Immunizations
Homeopathic immunizations have been used successfully for over 200 years. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, used homeopathic immunization routinely in his practice.
A brief timeline of the history of homeopathic immunizations:
- In the late 1700s, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann used the homeopathic remedy Belladonna successfully to prevent Scarlet Fever.
- In the late 1800s, homeopath Dr. C W Eaton used the homeopathic remedy Variolinum to prevent smallpox. He used it with almost 3000 people and had a 97.5% success rate.
- In 1957, in Buenos Aires, 40,000 people were given the homeopathic remedy Lathyrus during a polio epidemic, and not one of those people contracted polio. That same year, during polio epidemics in San Francisco and Chicago, 300 children were given Lathyrus and no cases of polio developed, whereas many people given the Salk vaccine contracted the disease.
- In 1974, homeopathic immunizations were used during an epidemic of meningitis in Brazil. Out of 18,000 children who were given the homeopathic remedy Meningococcinum, only 4 children got the disease.
- In 1991, French homeopath Dr. Paul Chauvanon gave 45 children homeopathic Diphtherotoxinum, a remedy used to prevent diptheria. A short time after administering the remedy, he was able to measure antitoxins in the blood, the exact same reaction the body would have after a standard vaccination, but without the potentially harmful side effects.
- In 1998 a major study in Brazil showed that the homeopathic nosode Meningococcinum 30CH offers excellent protection against meningitis. The study was conducted with 90,000 young people from 0 to 20 years. The results were statistically significant with a protection of 95% in the first 6 months and 91% in the first year.
- Starting in 2007, homeopathic immunizations were used very successfully in Cuba to prevent yearly cycles of Leptospirosis epidemic. In the past, when the authorities used regular vaccinations against the disease, deaths would number in the thousands every year. In 2008, homeopathic immunizations against Leptospirosis resulted in no deaths that year and very few infections.
